Photos gets its own document space
Published on 3 September 2026, NetVista Studio 1.4 Beta 3 introduced Photos NetVistaStudio as a separate native Mac workspace. Its central canvas was paired with layers, visibility and lock controls, ordering, renaming, duplication, opacity and blend modes. Selections, cropping and non-destructive adjustments gave images an editable structure rather than reducing every change to a flattened file.
The workspace included zoom, undo and redo, layered project saves and full-resolution image export. Studio's welcome window stayed available while Video Editor and Photo Editor opened separately. That separation let each editor keep its own working context instead of making one window serve every task.
More legible video controls
Video Effects also changed in this beta. A searchable browser and applied-effect stack made multiple effects easier to find, inspect, remove and reorder. Clearer settings, live preview and visible motion or opacity keyframes helped connect an adjustment with its result in the image.
Colour work received responsive grading-wheel updates, LUT handling, numeric feedback and bypass or revert controls. Export controls and progress presentation were revised too, including fixes aimed at long and high-resolution renders. The release also recorded timeline, selection, project and cross-platform FFmpeg corrections.
Read the platform boundary carefully
Mac, Windows and Linux packages shared the release number, but the new native photo workspace was not a Windows/Linux port. Nor was there a standalone mobile package in Beta 3. The Mac download remained locally signed rather than Apple-notarized, and the whole release remained beta software. For valuable work, retain the layered document, keep original images available and check a representative export before relying on the workflow.
